Weekends Around Here

With moving into our house soon and planning a birthday party, our weekends are always jammed packed.

Friday we picked the boy up from daycare, had a quick dinner out and stopped by the house.  The recessed lighting was installed and it brightened up the house so much.  I plan on doing a house update soon to show more of what has been going on.

This is what happens when you miss your afternoon nap.  We are a little less than two weeks away from his 1st birthday.  I am not sure how he is one yet because it feels like he was born yesterday.

Saturday morning we had breakfast with Ma'amaw and did some errands around town.
Griffin was able to try eggs for the first time.  You would of thought that I hadn't fed him in 2 days they way he ate his eggs and pancakes.

On Saturday I also co-hosted a Hop of Hope on Instagram.  I encourage you to go to my IG (sydedwards22) and look for this photo.  Click the photo to meet some more people who are on a journey because of infertility.

We are on the hunt for some mirrors to go in the bathrooms.  I like a traditional frame, but this one stood out to me.  I am sure I can find a place for it in one of the bathrooms.

I mentioned to my mom that Griff needed a hat since we spend a lot of time outside.  She got him this one and he instantly turned 15.  Where did my baby go?

Saturday night we spent celebrating Papa's birthday.  Give this boy a ball (or two) and put him outside and he is a happy camper.

Sunday we were up at 6:00am for Griffin's 1st birthday pictures.  I chose the morning because he is so happy then.  He wanted to prove me wrong and was a little difficult but I know we got some wonderful shots.

After his pictures we were all worn out so the 3 hour nap Griffin decided to take was glorious.

We made a quick trip to Ma'amaw for one more visit before she heads to the beach for a week.
We also took important phone calls.  I honestly have never taught him to do this.  I guess he just sees his Dada on the phone and likes to do what Dada does.

Sink baths have been fun, but I am so ready to get this boy in a big tub.  He would stay in until the water is cold and he starts to shiver.  I see a lot of bubble baths in our future.

He wanted to play with his paci instead of all the bath toys he has.

Our weekends are usually packed but I love it.  It is much better than just staying at home all day.  Especially when we have great weather. I hope you all have a great week.

Birthday Party Inspiration:Vintage Aviation

With Griffin's 1st birthday being a little more than a week away I thought it was time to share some inspiration for his birthday party and it will be a vintage aviation theme.
I honestly don't know where I came to love the theme of vintage aviation.

Maybe it was this,
 or this,

but I have really loved embracing his inner Flying Ace.

While planning his first birthday and picking a theme, I knew I still wanted simplicity with muted colors.  Color wise, we will use cream ,white, navy, and craft brown.

We are close to the home stretch of my little turning one.  It is so bittersweet knowing that the morning after his 1st birthday he will officially become a toddler.  I am really looking forward to sharing his birthday with everyone and you know a ton a pictures will be followed.

Can't Live Without It

Its Friday and I'm over here screaming FRI-YAAY!!  I hope you have all had an amazing week back from Easter Weekend.

Today I am linking up with some new friends for their "Can't Live Without It" link up.  There link up is so easy and you can easily incorporate some "Five on Friday" and "Friday Favorites" with it too.
So link up with these ladies and share some things that you just can't live without.

-One-

They are both seriously some"thing" I could not live without.  They make my world a little more crazy but I am so blessed to have both of them.  I could not live without my boys.

Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser + Moisturizer.  I use this stuff daily and it is honestly the best make-up remover I have ever used. I love how refreshing it makes my skin feel.  I could not live without this little miracle in a bottle.

-Three-

The black tank.  If you see me on a daily basis, there is a 95% chance that I am wearing a black tank top.  This is a huge staple piece in my closet and you can find closely to 12 of these. I even like to layer them under tshirts.

-Four-

Sweet Tea.  I'm from the South.  There is nothing else to say about it. (Ha)

-Five-

Photos.  I don't know what it is but there is no way I could live without my pictures.  They are blurry and grainy, but I love them.  I take a photo everyday of Griffin (#edwardspartyof3 #edwards365)  I find myself not wanting to miss a day or forget a day.  I may have 3,867 photos on my phone (not an exaggeration) but I love them. Something I would never want to live without.

Linking up with these ladies every Friday:

Stephanie, Laura, and Cait for Can't Live Without It
Lauren Elizabeth for High Five Friday

#EdwardsNest: Kitchler Lighting

We are in the home stretch with the house friends!  We have the movers scheduled to deliver furniture on the April 20th.  The date may or may not be moved back a bit but regardless we are weeks from moving in.  Finally!

To keep me busy, I wanted to share some of the lighting that will be used in our home.  We have a ton of recessed lighting but these are some of the specialty lighting, and I love them!

Kitchler Lighting
{One}T  his lighting will go in all of the bathrooms.  We like to have everything pretty uniformed so I like that these will look good in all of our bathrooms.

{Two}  This is one of my favorite lights.  We will have two of these pendant lights in our foyer between each of our stained beams on the ceiling.  I think my favorite thing about these are the finish they have.

{Three}  This is from the same collection as my master closet lighting.  This will actually be hanging above my air tub.  I love how dainty it looks and that it can flow well with my master closet light.

{Four}  My favorite light in the house! Seriously.  I love the off white color of it and I love that it is long and will fit with our 12.5 foot ceiling.

{Five}  We searched for the perfect pendants to have over the kitchen island for what seems like a lifetime. We finally agreed on these and there will be three hanging. I love the vintage bulb that will be used for these.

{Six}  We have two of these lights that will have over the French doors on the back porch.  They remind me an old European subway light.  Maybe I have seen one too many old movies.

{Seven}  This is another outdoor light.  We will have one on each side of the front door and one on the back door that leads to the open patio.  These things are huge but look great against the brick of our home.

Easter 2015 {Weekend Wrap Up} + Picture Overload

Hey Monday Friends.  I hope each and everyone of you had a great Easter weekend.  I love the season of Easter and what it represents.  He is Risen!

We started our weekend in Greenville getting some last minute items for our little bunny.  He needed a new paci and some new bibs so those just made its way into his basket too.  And we can't go to Greenville without making a pit stop at McAlister's Deli.  I love that place.  I blame it on the college days that a huge group of us would go there for lunch once a week.  Give me all of their honey mustard.  To die for!  We couldn't help but use their bricking for a photo op.  Now that he is on the move, most pictures are like these.  Cheesing and blurry.

Saturday night we had some family over to watch the final four games.  We love having them over and will miss them being to close to us when we move.

Griffin is such a little bookworm.  He loves slapping the book around and turning all the pages.  This is one of our favorite books and very appropriate for Easter Eve.

Sunday morning we went to church with my Mom and were able to have lunch with the rest of my family after.

I love these two boys! Jacob is Griffin's second cousin and they are a month apart.  I love that they will have each other to grow up with and play with just like his Mama and I were.

While we were outside hunting eggs, someone mentioned how we use to find Easter Eggs out of Granddaddy's shirt pocket.  We wanted to reenact the photos with the littles.

Griffin was super proud of himself when he got the egg. My Aunt was able to go home and actually find the photo of me doing the same thing 25+ years ago.

This was Griffin's last first holiday and it was one of my favorites.  So happy that we were able to spend it with some of our family and I know we will look forward to all of the holidays to come.
