I have said this before, but this was definitely a weekend for the books. As a family we are so busy during the week with work, meetings, gym, house stuff, and other errands that we really rely on the weekends to unwind and really spend some good quality family time. It is something I will never take for granted.
This guy right here. I love how he loves our boys and is just the best Dada.
We started off Father's Day weekend with just Luke and I on Friday and we had a day date. This never happens, so it was a nice treat for us both. I made a surprise reservation for us at a Brazilian Restaurant. Not counting the chicken hearts that were offered to us, the lunch was amazing! We will defiantly be heading back there. After lunch we both took a nap. Again, something that never happens and it was much needed.
Dad" shirt that has some of the most perfect adjectives to describe their Dad.
Saturday, Luke had some one on one time with Coleman which Griffin and I snuck away for a little date. I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger and take Griffin to go see his first movie, Finding Dory. I hope zero expectations and was okay if we had to leave the movie over. He isn't one to sit still for long so I had no clue how he would do. After having Finding Nemo on repeat at the Edwards house for the past few weeks I was excited for a little change up. Griffin shocked me. He never moved. He either sat in his own seat or in my lap. He didn't say a word and if he did he whispered. If you know my son personally, then you know the kid goes nonstop and never is quiet. He loved every bit of the movie. If you haven't seen it, go! Its adorable.
Sunday we were able to share yet another Father's day with Luke. This is such a special day and we enjoyed spoiling Dada all weekend long. We are so very blessed for this guy and I couldn't ask for a better role model for our boys.
A special Happy Father's Day to these wonderful men as well. My daddy, brother, father-in-law, and brother-in-law. You are all loved so much by us.

Now, I don't know if we can call it a "room tour" but this is definitely a little peek into my little man's room. In a perfect world I would have perfect pictures. Once everything in our home is "finish" I hope to hire a professional to come in for some crisp pictures. But for now you get these.
Coleman's room is actually my master closet. When designing the house we only put 2 bedrooms downstairs, ours and Griffins. Right before we moved in, we found out sweet boy was coming and we were in a bit of a panic on where to have his nursery. I was totally against having the boys share a room because it was not worth the baby waking up Griffin. I was also against moving Griffin upstairs too. So, my master closet became Coleman's room. Still not ideal, but it has really worked out in our favor.

The ceilings in the nursery are really tall, so placement of things look a little wonky, however, Coleman's room is one of my favorites in the house. The room stays cool and it is quiet since its on the other side of the house from where Griffin normally is. Hopefully in the near future, I can get some better quality pictures and I will update as that is done.

This weekend sure was a hot one. I am not a fan of the heat and I am so glad we were able to spend a portion of our weekend at the pool. This is Griffin's first pool experience since he was two months old and it was Coleman's first time. Griffin had a blast! The excitement that came from his little body was almost uncontrollable.
This was Coleman 90% of the time. It didn't take long for him to fall asleep, thanks to all the waves Griffin was making. His hands go straight to his eyes every time he gets a bit sleepy and they stayed that way.
Griffin is defiantly going to be my water baby. After Saturday, I told Luke we needed to invest in a pool and give this little ham what he wants. I mean, who wouldn't want a water day every weekend?
After a glorious 3 hour nap by the entire Edwards family, the boys woke up with smiles on their faces. These two love each other. Griffin is always very attentive of Coleman and his needs, and Coleman just can't keep his eyes off of him. Thankful for these brothers.
Papa was able to come over for a bit Sunday afternoon. These two always seem to find a ball and kick it up and down the hallway. I ask Griffin who your best friend was and he said, "Papa bessfran." This boy think his Papa has hung the moon.
Sunday night, I went to IG and asked friends if they had any organizing advice for this mess. Both boys share this closet, Coleman on the left and Griffin on the right. Coleman's side is divided in top row being clothes he hasn't worn and bottom clothes that he has. Griffin's top shelf is shorts and pants and I turn the hangers backwards for items he hasn't worn yet. The bottom is shirts. My type A personality isn't quiet happy with the set up so any advice on how you organize your kids closet would be oh so helpful!
Happy Monday Friends.

Thankful that Friday is finally here! It has been a busy week, like normal and weekends are always for rest and fun with family. Lets hope right into some of my favorites for the week.
The chick-fil-a mobile app is a game changer. I have used this several times for the past two week for Luke and Griffin and it just makes like easy! Every Friday, we get Griffin dinner from here and I order on the app and let them know when I arrive in the parking lot. My card number is saved on the app, so there is no going through the line to pay either. You walk in and they are handing your bag that second. It is amazing! Way faster than the already fast drive thru, too. My only recommendation would be that they have a parking spot designated for the mobile app users and they could bring your food out to the card. This would help for the parents with young children in the car and make for a smooth process. If you haven't downloaded this app and your a chick-fil-a lover, this is a must!
I firmly believe in children rear facing as long as possible. My goal for Griffin was to make it to 3 years old if not to 4. In all reality, adults would be safer if they were rear facing as well. Sadly, Griffin was messing with his safety buckle trying to unfasten it. It made me worried since I wasn't able to see him fully in the mirror, so we opted for his safety, so turn his car seat around. Even though I hated to do it, Griffin loves it. He talks non-stop in the car about everything that he is seeing and he loves that he can see Coleman better too.
Coleman is on the move! Well, he is trying really hard to be on the move. This little booger is getting up on his knees and is constantly rolling around. I can turn my head for one second and he has inched his way a good two to three feet from where I left him. I have a feeling we may have an early crawler...which I need to mentally prepare for.
Griffin started 2K this week! He is at the same development center that he has been in since he was 3 months old. So far this week he has told me that he made new friends and played a lot with cars. What more could a boy ask for, huh? This week he has been asking to sit on the potty more. He hasn't used it at all this week, but I think asking to sit on it is a start. Potty training starts at home in July/August and training starts at school in September.

My baby boy is five months! How are we already to close to being a 1/2 of a year? Time seems to go back quicker the second time around and it sure is a shame that babies just don't keep.
To play a little catch up, here is Coleman one through four months.
Life with you has been so much fun! You are learning more and more every single day. You seem to have changed in a blink.
Learning out to eat from a spoon has been an experience this month. Griffin loves to help feed you and does a great job at it. You love for your brother to be around and your eyes are always glued to him.
You are still doing great at rolling over. It is hard to keep you in one position for long because you want to be on the move so badly. You are also starting to get up on your knees...Mama can wait a little longer so hold off on the crawling, bud!
We had you screened this month to see if you need a cranial band like your brother. Turns out, you have tightening in your neck which has led to a small flat spot on the back of your head. Dada and Mama have been working 24/7 with your head and we hope it will correct its self soon. However, if you end up needing to have a helmet, I already have a fun paint design picked out for it!
You are loving your jumparoo! You can get a little fussy after you eat and we can place you in it and you become such a smiley babe. Sometimes, we have to turn on Mickey Mouse if your really fussy. Works like a charm!
I have some prayers for you for the next month. I pray that your acid reflux improves because it is no joke and I know it makes you uncomfortable at times. I also pray that your head shape evens out and that we don't have to go down the path to a cranial band. Thank you Coleman for being such a joy to us. You were the best unexpected surprise and you are such a miracle. We love you!
